mTS017 Temperature Sensor - IR Sensor
The mTS017 is a solid state, direct-to-digital single wire temperature sensor utilizing an IR sensing element. The sensor is accurate to 0.5°C over the 0°C to +60°C (32°F to 140°F) measurement temperature range. The sensor measurement range is –70°C to +380°C (-94°F to 716°F) with a device ambient temperature of –40°C to +70°C (-40°F to 158°F). The sensor is designed to connect to the mBC081 (link to ) or mBC082 Bus Converter (link to ). Used with the mBC081 Bus Converter (link to ), the sensor is rated as intrinsically safe.
The sensor has an exclusive “Hand Detect” system for use in grocery store commercial coolers. The system detects and removes the erroneous readings that occur when a customer’s hand enters the sensors range when food is picked from the cooler. The temperature sensor uses a single wire data communications bus. Up to 32 sensors can be connected in parallel to a single Bus Converter. The sensor bus has a fully specified cabling system complete with terminal assembles and uses low cost CAT5 cabling and punch down blocks for easy termination. Each sensor has a unique serial number identifying it to the Bus Converter.
